Team ESPN in the community "Fans Helping Fans" Team ESPN encourages employees and fans to be champions in their own communities. Team ESPN conducts community service and employee volunteer events in local communities.
AmeriCares HomeFront Project
For a number of years, ESPN has participated in the AmeriCares HomeFront Project. ESPN has sponsored both a team and materials for a community-based home repair day during which volunteers help homeowners who are physically or financially unable to repair their homes.
National Trails Day
Team ESPN is a sponsor of the National Trails Day Festival & Family Fun Day held in Panthorn Park in Southington, CT generally held on the first Saturday in June. National Trails Day brings together outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds to celebrate the great natural heritage of the United States trail system. National Trails Day was established to recognize the value of recreational trails and the people involved in building and maintaining them. Team ESPN volunteers participate in this day with a Team ESPN booth that features miniature golf and other carnival games. Special Olympics Connecticut
Team ESPN sponsors the tennis venue at the Special Olympics Connecticut Summer Games. Volunteers serve as scorekeepers, registration coordinators, lines people, ball persons and award presenters.
Book Buddies
Team ESPN supports Book Buddies, a one-on-one community volunteer program that promotes reading by providing books for underserved children. Three times a year, employees donate books and Team ESPN volunteers deliver them directly to homes with children. New York Restoration Project
Team ESPN participated with Disney Worldwide Outreach and New York Restoration to restore a local community garden on 103rd St in East Harlem. New York Restoration is an organization created by Bette Midler. The organizations goal is to create a cleaner, more beautiful New York by revitalizing underserved parks, community gardens, and open space for community members in New York City.
Holiday Initiatives
Adopt-a-Family For the past three years, ESPN has worked with the Salvation Army's Adopt-a-Family program. ESPN adopts several families each holiday season, and employee volunteers provide them with clothing, toys, and holiday gifts. Food Drive Working with the United Way of West Central Connecticut, Team ESPN collects nonperishable items that are donated to local food pantries and shelters for Thanksgiving. |

Disney VoluntEARS
ESPN also works closely with The Walt Disney Company's VoluntEARS programs to develop volunteer opportunities for employees. The programs enable employees to contribute their personal time, expertise and effort to make a positive impact on their communities while furthering the traditions and ideals of The Walt Disney Company
